Well, I wrote a long comment, but my failure to be logged into WP caused it to get eaten and now blogger won't accept by WP credential, so this is the short version.

Intelligentia has a cafe of their own, or at least used to, under the L just off the Northwest corner of Millennium Park that is worth checking out.

There's Sip Coffee House & Garden at 1223 W Grand Ave which is super funky and eclectic, but alas I can't remember which coffee they serve.

If you can will you way to go that far south, the shining jewel of Hyde Park is Istria Cafe which is now at 5030 South Cornell Ave having sadly closed their super funky location on E 57th St under the commuter train overpass. They also serve Intelligentia and I always felt did better things with it than the Intelligentia shop itself did. The new space is very chic and is connected to an art gallery.

How:

Looking at what you are genuflecting toward, kneel on your right knee for a moment in the manner of a man proposing to a woman, bringing the right knee all the way to the floor, close to the heel of the left foot, keeping the back and neck erect. Hold for a moment, then stand.

When:

Genuflect toward the Tabernacle where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved, and each time you pass in front of it (except when you're in procession, such as standing in line for Communion, or returning to your seat afterward). While this should, on one level, be a matter of habit, it shouldn't be done thoughtlessly. Remind yourself when genuflecting toward the Tabernacle that you are kneeling before God. Praying mentally, "My Lord and My God" is a good habit to get into while genuflecting on the right knee. If the Tabernacle is not on the Altar, genuflect toward the Altar and the Altar Crucifix.

Great thoughts. I can definitely be stretched and encouraged by them.

This last week we on campus we discussed how the Latin origin of the word Passion, "Passio" means suffering and was first used to reference the last week of Jesus' life. Oh how the use of the word has changed.

It's easy for a person they are passionate about something because they enjoy a rush of intense emotion when they interact with it. I'm more impressed by a person who has such deep love and devotion toward another person or object that they are willing to endure suffering for them or it.

I have mixed feelings on Campolo and Bono. While they are right that God is concerned for the whole person and right religion leads to a true concern for the weak and vulnerable manifested in action they seem to subtly shift focus away from gospel proclamation.

I get the feeling from both of them that the greatest gift one can receive is not the gift of being saved and filled with the Holy Spirit but of a receiving a living wage or some other material blessing.

And yet when Jesus addressed people about prayer he said if you truly pray you will receive the Spirit. This was the greatest gift he could imagine. I just don't get the feeling that these guys really believe that. If so, you'd think they'd emphasize it more.

The danger of not emphasizing it is that in time all that's left is the social concern aspect--as in the YMCA and other outreaches that have lost their Christian distinctives.

My two cents, anyway. God's very best to you. Love your generous Pentecostalism!

Justice in Hebrew has a slightly different meaning and connotation from the English and remember your context is Anglo-Saxon. Even the Greeks had a different idea of justice than the Jews. [Translating is hard work.] I think there must be some work somewhere that attempts to show the difference. I like your method though, trust in God and let Him do as He will...The Spirit will open our minds and lead us to the truth.

It will sure be interesting to see how rubber meets road with our vision. I just went to the website (http://www.livingwage.geog.psu.edu/) Waltman mentioned in the notes of his article about living wage. I would love to make a living wage the standard for our employees - based foremost on their need. In our little village a family of four needs $23.24/hour. Even if I assume both parents are working (do I want to?) That is still $11.62/hr. I think it might be a hard sell to get the board to agree to pay the "poverty wage" of $9.83!

(I have to remove from my mind that I'm also talking about my own wage here, since for the last 6 years we have been living far below poverty wage. I find it difficult to imagine a living wage and find these numbers surprising. Perhaps I shouldn't be so shocked and perhaps the board will allow more than I think.)
